Orange Jordan concluded a closing ceremony for the Private Sector Access to Support Startups (PASS) programme, which supported 130 entrepreneurs in strengthening their businesses and preparing for further growth.

Implemented in partnership with the Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment (E4DE) project, PASS provided participating entrepreneurs with specialized training, individual guidance, and mentorship tailored to their businesses and different stages of development.

The PASS programme is part of the E4DE project, implemented by GIZ Jordan in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE) and co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU).

The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), alongside representatives from Orange Jordan, GIZ, and the private sector, in addition to several entrepreneurial mentors who participated in the training program.

Over the course of one year, PASS helped entrepreneurs enhance their skills, addressing business challenges, and preparing their companies for growth. The programme aimed to increase sales, boost productivity, and strengthen their competitiveness through practical support aligned with their individual needs and market requirements.

The impact of the programme extended to cover various governorates, including Irbid, Jerash, Mafraq, Karak, Aqaba, and the capital Amman. This expansion reflects Orange Jordan's drive towards building a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem, developing skills, and providing direct communication channels with mentors, underlining the company’s unwavering commitment to continue this journey and reinforce its strategic partnerships.

Orange Jordan affirmed that this step is part of its efforts to turn ideas into reality that serves society as well as national economic and digital objectives. The company aspires to help achieve these goals through its responsible and impactful programs, such as the Orange Digital Center’s BIG by Orange, as it believes that developing the entrepreneurship landscape and empowering youth with the necessary training and guidance enhances their capabilities and opens new horizons for growth.

For its part, GIZ highlighted that PASS demonstrates the value of combining tailored business support with sustained mentorship and direct private-sector engagement. It will further carry this approach beyond the programme by giving entrepreneurs continued access to experienced professionals and strengthening the private sector’s role in Jordan’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The programme has recently concluded dedicated training for more than 85 experts and specialists in entrepreneurship, enabling them to effectively perform their roles as mentors. Topics involved understanding mentorship responsibilities and avoiding key challenges, improving communication skills, asking questions, active listening, providing feedback, and building trust with beneficiaries.

Notably, E4DE is one of the projects under the National Entrepreneurship Policy, adopted in 2022 and extended until 2027 to support entrepreneurs and startups and strengthen Jordan’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Through this policy, the Ministry works with its partners to support startups at every stage, from ideation to growth and expansion. This support spans several pillars: building capacities, facilitating access to finance and markets, promoting an entrepreneurial culture, and creating an enabling environment for businesses to grow.
